DC instructs to ensure anti-dengue mosquito spray
KOHAT – Deputy Commissioner Kohat Roshan Mehsud instructed all district officials, health department, TMA and civil defense volunteers to spray anti-dengue mosquitoes in every nook and cranny of Kohat district to keep the public safe. Tehsildar Hafeez-ud-Din under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Bashir Khan, Subdepartment Deputy Commissioner Dara Younis Khan, TMA staff and civil defense volunteers, Dara Bazaar, Zarghoon Khel, visited various other locations and performed sprays during the DC Kohat announced week-long anti-dengue campaign. Local administration, police and health workers participated intensively in the campaign by checking and spraying the dengue larvae every day outside the market, in shops, in squares, warehouses and factories. The general public and shopkeepers were also made aware of dengue through educational events during the week-long campaign. Barrels, tanks and jugs in all of these locations were checked and dengue mosquito repellent spray was distributed daily in all stores and locations of Dara Bazaar for a week. In a week-long campaign against dengue, 1913 shops, warehouses, factories were sprayed, while air coolers, barrels, tanks and water containers were checked in 2018.
102 public awareness-raising events were also held in the markets, in which 805 people were informed about dengue symptoms, dengue prevention and precautionary measures.
