It’s a big mistake known in Tennessee and still some people mistake it for the Asian giant hornet – also known as the murder hornet.

TENNESSEE, USA – Spring means more and more animals are coming out, which means you may see more of the European hornet.

It’s a big mistake known in Tennessee and still some people mistake it for the Asian giant hornet – also known as the murder hornet.

How can you tell the two apart?

First, the murder hornet grows larger than the European hornet.

Another easy way to tell is by the color of his belly. The European hornet has a distinct “teardrop” shape, which comes from the black stripe on the left. Murder hornets have stripes that run across.

The Asian giant hornet also has a lighter head and a darker rib cage.

On the other hand, the European hornet’s head and chest are similar in color.
