Woman sets herself on fire while trying to kill bed bugs – The Oakland Press
A 31-year-old Pontiac woman suffered second degree burns after she reportedly set her car on fire to get rid of bed bugs, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
The incident occurred at around 1:40 p.m. on July 27 on the 1200 block of Perry Street in Pontiac after the woman poured alcohol into the vehicle and set it on fire to clear the bugs, the sheriff’s office said. She accidentally set herself on fire, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s deputies and a crew from the Waterford Regional Fire Department responded to the scene. The woman was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital for treatment.
